Yuki Sonoda rewrites history at Miss Asia Pacific International 2017

Beautiful and soft-spoken Yuki Sonoda has rewritten history by becoming the first Japanese delegate in 21 years to enter the Top 10 at the historical Miss Asia Pacific International contest, held in Manila last November 29th.   She is also the fourth to have made it into the semifinals in the pageant’s 49-year history.

After being declared as 1st Runner-up at Miss Supranational Japan 2016, Yuki decided to have a break from pageantry in order to focus on her studies.  She was supposed to compete during the revival edition of MAPI, held on November 2016.

She graduated on September 2017, where she finished her law degree with flying colors at Rikkyo University.  After which, she gave pageantry a go signal once again!

Despite her busy schedules prior to graduation – juggling between work and law studies – Yuki still managed to join our 2017 Summer Workshop, en route to her preparation for MAPI 2017.

But, Yuki’s stint at MAPI 2017 was not solely under Qanamy Workshop’s effort.  She had the support of her family and friends in the Philippines and Japan, some of them even sponsored her dresses and wardrobes.

At 24, Yuki is still ripe to conquer more pageants, and looks like she is preparing for something bigger this year!  We are looking forward to that!
